Survivor Services

Emergency Shelter

Always Sisters Always Friends (ASAF) is dedicated to ensuring safety, recovery, and justice for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as their children and anyone impacted by abuse. Additionally, we offer educational outreach programs within the community. Our survivor services are offered completely free of charge.

For service requests or to speak with an advocate, please dial 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)

Phone lines are open 24/7, 365 days a year.

Legal Advocacy

Within our legal advocacy services, ASAF provides a range of support,  including connecting individuals with legal representation, aiding in the submission of protection orders, clarifying legal procedures,  accompanying survivors to court and legal appointments, and much more.

Case Management

Survivors are connected with an ASAF advocate who collaborates with them  to identify a diverse array of needs, establish goals, devise  strategies to achieve those objectives, and find ways to overcome  obstacles. All our services are delivered in a manner that fosters  empowerment and autonomy for both survivors and their families.

Support Groups

ASAF offers several support groups for survivors in all stages of their healing.

Safety Planning

Our advocates collaborate directly with survivors to comprehensively identify all available steps and options for addressing safety concerns,  with the goal of enhancing the survivors' sense of security for both themselves and their children.

Medical Advocacy

In the event of a survivor seeking medical care at the hospital following sexual assault or physical harm, an advocate is available to meet with them at the hospital to offer support and provide guidance. Additionally, advocates can offer information regarding HIV, STIs, pregnancy, and medication options.

Housing Navigation

ASAF partners with survivors to create housing stability plans, which  involve facilitating access to resources like rent and utility  assistance. Our housing advocate is committed to conducting personalized  assessments of each survivor's needs, guiding in the planning process,  and establishing connections with the essential resources required.

Prevention and Education

ASAF extends a diverse range of community outreach services to organizations, schools, and companies, aimed at fostering awareness,  education, and empowerment. Our offerings encompass educational presentations, featuring insights from professional speakers well-versed in domestic and sexual violence issues. Additionally, ASAF provides comprehensive training programs designed to equip individuals and teams with the knowledge and tools necessary to address these critical matters effectively. Through these outreach efforts, we aspire to create a  safer and more informed community for all.

Basic Needs

ASAF recognizes that addressing the immediate and practical needs of survivors is essential for their overall well-being and recovery. Therefore, we offer a valuable service by providing basic necessities like food and personal care products to those in our care. Survivors who are presently engaged with one of our advocates can schedule an appointment to have a confidential discussion about their current requirements.

This personalized approach ensures that survivors' specific needs are understood and addressed comprehensively, allowing them to focus on their healing journey without the added burden of unmet basic needs. Our commitment is to provide not only emotional and psychological support but also to assist with the tangible elements necessary for survivors to regain stability and independence.
